The University of Wales, Aberystwyth, and the University of Wales, Bangor, signed a "memorandum of understanding" today, paving the way for closer collaboration between them. Bangor announced last week that it might merge or form a strategic alliance with the North East Wales Institute of Higher Education.
The memorandum will promote joint academic activities in, initially, management and business, history, Welsh history, environmental sciences, modern languages, physics and chemistry.
