Winning wine

Be honest. How many of you even knew that Canada produces wine? There will certainly be no excuse for students at Edinburgh's Centre for Canadian Studies and the city's Queen Margaret College who recently attended a Canadian wine-tasting even-ing at the university library. "This is a serious learning exercise. We just happen to believe that serious learning should also be enjoyable", said centre director Ged Martin. His concept of learning through joy should with luck be widely applicable in other subject areas -- how long before South African studies departments are inviting their students for an evening of laager-tasting ?
