Turin Polytechnic, a renowned citadel of engineering excellence, has announced Italy's first-ever degree in automotive engineering. The new degree is a joint venture between the polytechnic and car-maker Fiat, which is based in Turin. Fiat is investing Pounds 16 million and will "lend" its engineers and designers as guest lecturers, while another Pounds 37 million is coming from European sources.
