Durham
A former instructor at North Carolina Central University, Durham, has been convicted of passing a student in exchange for a television set and video game system. Zoology lecturer Vonda Reed gave the student a stolen credit card and asked her to buy the merchandise from the store where she worked. In exchange, the student, who had a failing grade before the test, was rewarded with a perfect score. Ms Reed was put on probation for three years and ordered to pay restitution.
