An Iranian-born, Swedish-naturalised student at Halmstad University College is wanted by Sweden's security police for smuggling nuclear weapons components to Iran.
The student bought a thyratron, which can be used as a detonator, from a United States electronics outlet in Stockholm, and sent it to a relative at an Iranian university. Swedish customs officers intercepted a repeat shipment. The student was questioned by police but was released on bail as it was thought he would not abscond. He has disappeared.
