London, 13 April 2021
Times Higher Education (THE), the trusted global data partner for higher education has today announced its first move into the student peer-to-peer market. Partnering with The Ambassador Platform (TAP), a global provider of Experience Communication Management (XCM) technology, THE will help connect prospective students with student ambassadors around the world.
Prospective students will now have either decided, or are in the process of deciding, where they want to take their higher education studies in the upcoming academic year. For many, a decision of this importance, and stepping into the unknown, can be a daunting experience. By moving into the peer-to-peer market with TAP, THE will add additional support to millions of prospective students visiting their website every year by connecting them with student ambassadors currently at university, who will have gone through the same process. Students will be able to access user-generated content from universities and their student ambassadors as well as personalised peer-to-peer conversations in real-time, no matter where they are located.
Patrick Hayes, Chief Development Officer at THE, said:
“THE is really excited to be making its first move into the peer-to-peer market with this partnership. It’s the perfect next step for THE’s growing movements into the student sector and a further statement of our ambition in this area. We’re looking forward to working with TAP to support students around the world in making one of their most important decisions of their lives.”
Nik Higgins, Chief Growth Officer at TAP, commented:
“Partnering with Times Higher Education is absolutely wonderful news for The Ambassador Platform. We're so lucky to be working with another organisation that is, very genuinely, trying to do something new and exciting for institutions and for students.
"We're delighted that our Experience Communication Management (XCM) technology will be assisting THE’s move into the student market. It will help hundreds of thousands of prospective students across the world gain a rich and authentic insight into what the experience of college or university is really like.
"The whole team at THE have been wonderful to work with - always friendly, excited, and very ambitious. I'm sure this is the start of a long-lasting partnership and friendship between us.”

ABOUT TAP
The Ambassador Platform (TAP) is the market leader in Experience Communication Management (XCM) technology. Founded in 2016, TAP works with 100+ Higher Education institutions and organisations across the world and has clients in North America, EMEA, and Asia-Pacific. We see that there is an ‘Insight Gap’ between the true experience of being part of an institution, and what a prospective student perceives it to be like. TAP’s mission is to help institutions close the Insight Gap by enabling their communities of students, staff, alumni, and parents to safely and efficiently share their experiences with prospective students. Closing the gap allows universities to recruit more best-fit students, and helps prospects make more informed, confident, and smarter decisions about their education.
