THE PARTNERS WITH SHORELIGHT TO HELP PROSPECTIVE INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS STUDY AT LEADING US UNIVERSITIES

London, UK & Boston, US, 17 November 2020

Times Higher Education (THE), the trusted global data partner for higher education and Shorelight, a leader in international education that provides life-changing experiences for global learners at US universities, today announced a new partnership to support prospective students who are interested in studying in America.

Despite the challenges presented by COVID-19, millions of undergraduate and postgraduate students continue to visit THE’s website to explore study abroad options. Few destinations are as attractive as the US, whose universities continue to dominate the top spots in the THE World University Rankings, claiming eight of the top 10 places in the 2021 edition.

Working with Shorelight, THE will now be able to directly support students in achieving their dream of studying in the United States. Through the partnership students who use THE's in-depth database of US universities and rankings will be offered free, individualised consultative services helping them through the application and onboarding process. These services will allow students to make informed decisions when discovering the right university to begin their studies.

Tom Dretler, Co-Founder and CEO of Shorelight, said:

“We are thrilled to be partnering with THE. This collaboration will allow us to increase opportunities for students across the globe to discover, study and achieve a degree from leading universities in the United States.”

Based in Boston, Massachusetts, Shorelight has formed dynamic relationships with top-tier universities to provide students with concierge support and services throughout their journey. Since its founding in 2013 more than 10,000 international learners have completed study in the United States via a Shorelight university partnership.

Paul Howarth, CEO at THE added:

“We are incredibly pleased to have formed this partnership with Shorelight and excited to already be announcing the tenth partner for our new student business. Shorelight has become one of the most recognisable names for helping international students gain access to a higher education in the US and is a natural fit with THE as we seek to help prospective international students find the right fit for their study abroad requirements. In a time of global uncertainty riddled with transitory travel restrictions, having access to a service like Shorelight, along with THE’s resources, has the potential to ease the journey into international study for students, every step of the way.”

The partnership will begin with a webinar – Everything you need to know about studying in the United States on Wednesday 18 November at 1200 GMT. Registration is free: https://timeshighereducation.zoom.us/webinar/register/8016051115650/WN_b1T6LGWJSvC6hNfWdK_W0Q
