In 2023, UBS, one of the best universities in Canada, ranked 40th in Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings and 34th in Pharmacy & Pharmacology. UBS has cultivated numerous outstanding scholars, including eight Nobel Prize winners and one Tang Prize winner in 2022 since its establishment.

After the introductions of both universities, Jing-Ping Liou, Dean of TMU College of Pharmacy, and Professor Shyh-Dar Li officially signed the MOU, expecting to foster more exchange programs on both sides. Currently, two students from the College of Pharmacy have received subsidies from Taiwan’s Ministry to go to UBC for internships. In terms of academic research, Liou collaborated with Li and Assistant Professor Anna Blakney doing research related to lipid-based drug delivery.

Approaching the end, Li delivered a speech on “Enabling Novel Therapies for Orphan Diseases and Neglected Health Challenges through Innovating Drug Delivery” which got enthusiastic responses from students, bringing the ceremony to a perfect conclusion.
