Established in 1988, Ajman University is based in the Al Jurf area of Ajman. It was the first university in the United Arab Emirates to admit expatriate students.

Students can study a variety of subjects at undergraduate, graduate and PhD level within the following faculties: architecture, art and design, business administration, dentistry, engineering and information technology, humanities and sciences, law, mass communication and medicine.

Each semester, student volunteer groups visit places like Nepal and Zanzibar to work with the local community in a range of projects including health care to language instruction.The free dental clinic on campus treats more than 500 local dental patients each day.

For students with an interest in sport, there’s a wealth of different sports facilities, including fields for football and basketball, track and field, and a swimming pool. There’s also a gymnasium.

Elsewhere on campus, there are bookshops, a library, a health unit, restaurants, and mosques.

The Office of Student Life ensures that students academic experience is well rounded through a wide range of co-curricular activities, programs and services. Ajman University has around 100 different clubs for students to join and enjoy throughout the academic year.

Ajman University has established relationships with universities around the world, carrying out various exchange activities such as academic exchanges, scientific research cooperation and the opportunity for students to study abroad. The University welcomes students to its campus too. As a result there are around 70 different nationalities in the country.

Partnered universities include the University of Nottingham (UK), University of Florida (US) and Jordan University of Science and Technology (Jordan).
