About the Role

Under the guidance of the Team Leader, Community Engagement and Growth, the Events Support Assistant will be responsible for supporting the coordination and delivery of internal and external events for the Curriculum Impact Portfolio.

The Events Support Assistant will support the engagement activities across conception and planning to pre-production and delivery, supporting the successful execution of events. The position will also require technical ability in supporting audio-visual and other event-related technology needs.

As the successful Events Support Assistant, you will:


	Source quotes and liaise with caterers, suppliers, and equipment providers.
	Source and book venues and ensure internal Flinders University event policies are adhered to.
	Support University social media channels by posting live at events as required and encouraging participation with event audiences.
	Provide general support in the development of event plans and supporting documentation, such as run sheets, guest lists, invitations and speech notes/scripts.
	Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and innovative team culture.

Your strong interpersonal and communication skills will be key to your success as you build and maintain positive relationships with staff, students, and external partners. You will deliver excellent customer service and be approachable, helping to ensure that events run smoothly. Position overview

The Coordinator will primarily support the management, coordination and delivery of academic programs and student services for the SMP Education Support Unit. The Coordinator will be critical members of the professional staff team supporting the day-to-day operation of the School’s education and administration. The successful candidate will bring strong organisational and administration experience in a similar field as well as an inherent ability and desire for excellence in service and support, and will be able to demonstrate the ability to learn quickly and will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
