As part of its mission to advance scholarship and the teaching of ethics in universities and professional schools, the Institute offers Junior Faculty Fellowships in Ethics to new PhDs or recent PhDs in non-tenure-track positions who wish to pursue a career in teaching and researching applied ethics. This is a one-year fellowship.The fellowship is open to recent PhDs in normative disciplines such as philosophy, political science, and public policy, as well as to recent law graduates who hold a PhD in a cognate field. Compensation is highly competitive. The appointment is for the period from August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2027.We have one opening for the 2026-2027 academic year. This fellowship is designed to provide the training and experience essential to becoming a successful university-level teacher of applied ethics. GISME Junior Fellows teach two sections of an ethics course per year in either MSB or Georgetown's philosophy department, collaborate with GISME faculty on other courses, and receive the support of Georgetown's ethics faculty to produce quality scholarship during their time in residence. Fellows also participate in GISME's academic symposia and its ongoing project to develop innovative tools and techniques to improve the teaching of applied and professional ethics. Job Purpose The Professional Officers Division (POD) houses a centralized pool of academic staff under the Professional Officers scheme. Professional Officers come with specialised and deep technical skills acquired through extensive industry experience. They form the talent pool which brings a much-needed industry perspective to student learning. They facilitate applied learning and applied research in SIT, complementing the academic expertise of the faculty to bring industry practices and applications into the curriculum. Professional Officers leverage on their industry experiences to create authentic learning environments, where discovery and innovation take place. They act as coaches and mentors to students during practical learning activities such as laboratory sessions, Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Professional Officers could also lead or work with faculty on industry innovation projects to provide solutions to the industry. In addition to their role in applied learning and applied research, Professional Officers manage the centralised laboratory facilities and resources in SIT. With Technical Officers, laboratory safety professionals, and administrators in POD, they jointly develop central policies and processes for the safe and seamless operation of laboratories in SIT Key Responsibilities Design and teach labs & practice modules Mentor students in Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Lead or co-lead innovation projects with industry. Manage labs and equipment to support academic programmes and applied research. Ensure safety in labs Job Requirements SNB-valid Full Practicing Certificate (Registered Nurse). A degree in Nursing from a recognised University. Possessing a Master’s degree, PhD degree and relevant certifications will be an added advantage. Have at least 10 years of clinical nursing experience in healthcare settings. Extensive experience and knowledge of nursing skills and industry practices to bring industry perspectives to SIT. Keen interest in innovation projects, with demonstrated ability in developing solutions to technical problems. Experience in research projects and publications will be an added advantage. Strong supervisory skills and enjoy working closely with students in an educational environment. Experience in simulation education will be an added advantage. Demonstrate proficiency to keep abreast of development in the field and pursue professional certification programs. Possessing industrial certifications in relevant areas will be an added advantage (e.g., simulation training) Possession of a good network of relationships with industry partners in hospitals, community, and ILTC sectors will be an added advantage.

About Us The King’s Health Partners Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre (ECMC) is one of 29 centres across the UK and specialises in new molecular and cellular cancer immunotherapies. The KHP ECMC has been awarded funding for a further 5-years to expand their trials portfolio, including agents discovered and developed by King’s College London researchers. With an extensive portfolio of early phase and translational clinical trials, there is an increasing requirement for tissue sampling and complex sample preparation. The post is based within KHP Cancer Biobank, part of the School of Cancer and Pharmaceutical Sciences. About The Role The successful candidate will support the ongoing expansion of trial-related sample handling and processing. This work requires effective monitoring, collection, and processing of patient samples in accordance with defined protocols. The postholder will have a broad knowledge and experience of sample handling. The translational lab can be supporting 20 or more trials at any one time and the postholder will be responsible for delivering a reliable and accurate service. This requires good organisational and planning skills. The postholder may be required to communicate complex information clearly and concisely with the clinical trial team members. Alongside clinical trial activities, the successful candidate will provide support to the Cancer Biobank. This will primarily involve processing biological fluids, which may include periods of intense activity. Both clinical trial and biobank activities are undertaken within a tightly regulated environment. The postholder will be required to actively participate in the quality management system. However, evolution of systems is encouraged to improve efficiency and sustainability. Whilst sample collection should be scheduled in advance, a flexible approach is required as these may be at locations other than Guy’s Hospital and are dependent upon other Trust service providers. Hence, sample collection and processing may occur outside of core hours. The post holder will be responsible to the Specialist Chief Technician and accountable to KCL Head of Biobanking. This is a full time (35 hours per week) post and will be offered on a fixed term contract until 31/03/2027. This post is subject to Disclosure and Barring Service and Occupational Health clearances. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT.  Job Details This Research Fellow will contribute to the UrEco 2030+ project: “Optimizing Urban Ecosystem Services Model for Urban Climate and Biodiversity in Singapore towards 2030 and Beyond.” This position requires experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and related fields, with added expertise in ecosystem services assessment, ecological engineering, social sciences, policy making, environmental science, and/or urban environmental issues at the policy–academic interface. This position is ideal for an early- or mid-career researcher with experience in GIS or remote sensing who seeks to apply and expand their expertise in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary research environment. The successful candidate will work with leading researchers and contribute to cutting-edge research and policy dialogues at the intersection of blue–green infrastructure, tropical urban ecosystem services, and urban resilience (covering themes such as urban flooding, thermal cooling, recreation, and biodiversity). The work includes Local Climate Zone (LCZ) classification and collaboration with Japanese university partners for integrated macro- to micro-scale analysis. As part of understanding the ecosystem services that are involved in Singapore, the successful candidate will also be expected to perform some field-based data collection during the duration of the project. Key Responsibilities Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met.  Identify, simulate, and analyse ecosystem service models using GIS, remote sensing, and field data. Manage, process, and analyse ecological and socio-economic datasets to develop and calibrate high-accuracy ecosystem service models. Conduct literature reviews and synthesize findings into conceptual frameworks and research designs. Support cross–work package integration, particularly in developing tools for blue–green infrastructure policy and decision-making. Perform quantitative and qualitative data collection, analysis, and visualization. Draft and edit research reports, policy briefs, and academic manuscripts. Contribute to project management, workshop organization, and stakeholder or policy dialogues. Be involved in regular field work data collection and to perform environmental and biodiversity surveys (fish, birds and insects) as part of a research team.  To communicate and liaise with any internal and external stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met. Any other ad-hoc duties assigned by Supervisor. Job Requirements PhD in Geography, GIS, Remote Sensing, Environmental Science, Earth Science, or related disciplines. Strong working knowledge of GIS platforms (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and spatial data analysis techniques. Training or demonstrated experience in remote sensing, spatial data collection, and thematic mapping. Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., R, MATLAB, SPSS, Primer, Python). Experience with analytical techniques such as ANOVA, PCA, Regression, and Multidimensional Scaling (MDS). Experience in ecosystem service identification and analysis is highly advantageous. Excellent data management, research design, and reporting skills. Strong communication and presentation skills in English. Highly organized, proactive, and capable of working both independently and within multidisciplinary teams. Additional Note: While prior experience in ecosystem service modelling and simulation is not mandatory, it will be considered a strong advantage.
