Established in 1997 in the Botswanan capital of Gaborone, Botho University now has campuses in five African countries: Lesotho, Eswatini, Namibia and Ghana. It also offers a fully online study option.
Botho University offers degrees across four faculties: business and accounting; engineering and technology; health and education; and hospitality and sustainable tourism. Describing itself as “a dynamic and exciting place to be”, it aims to further sustainable development in Africa.
Eight on-campus accommodation units serve first-year international students or those from remote areas. There are four students per bedroom, and the halls also include air-conditioning, a balcony, a study area and a shower for every four students. There is a common area with gas-hob cooking facilities, as well as pool and table-football tables.
Botho has links with international universities in Germany, Sweden, Turkey and South Africa, and offers six-month study-abroad programmes – part or wholly subsidised – to each.
