This is an education and research position for an early career (Level B) enthusiastic academic with a vision to establish an academic career pathway. Working closely with the Program Director of Indigenous Public Health and other members of the academic team, the position will have a role in teaching and academic administration of Indigenous public health units of study within the Sydney School of Public Health and Faculty of Medicine and health covering a variety of health and wellbeing topics covered by the curriculum. You will also have opportunity to build research, evaluation and community outreach work related to Indigenous public health or other areas within the Sydney School of Public Health (SSPH), with career mentoring and exciting professional development opportunities. Your key responsibilities will be to: Undertake independent teaching within the Sydney School of Public Health including but not limited to degrees such as the Graduate Diploma in Indigenous Health Promotion, Master of Public health and potential guest teaching within the wider Faculty of Medicine health disciplines such as Nursing, Pharmacy and Health Sciences undertake collaborative research as directed by the Program Director supporting the Indigenous Public Health teams strategic priorities and scholarly outputs engage in high-quality teaching and learning experiences (at undergraduate and postgraduate level) that meet the University's expectations and standards for education develop productive relationships, collaborations, and partnerships with external parties (including research partners, government bodies, and industry) which will ultimately contribute to improved outcomes for the profession, industry, and/or community maintain quality, standards, and excellence in all research activities and outputs. Selection Criteria bachelor's degree in a health-related field. at least two years of experience teaching and/or tutoring in Indigenous Health Promotion at tertiary level. minimum of five years' experience in grassroots health service delivery such as Aboriginal Health Worker/Practitioner, nursing, medicine or allied health with a preference for applicants who also bring a clinical background. at least two years' experience providing tailored academic and pastoral support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, with an understanding of culturally safe and strengths-based approaches to student engagement. demonstrated experience in marking and providing constructive, high-quality feedback on postgraduate health promotion assessments. demonstrated experience working in rural, remote, regional, and non-urban health contexts, with an understanding of the unique challenges and strengths of these communities capacity to undertake independent teaching across disciplines within the Faculty of Medicine and Health, including but not limited to the Master of Public Health, the Graduate Diploma in Indigenous Health Promotion, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Health Sciences. ability to engage in collaborative research aligned with team, school and faculty priorities. commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels that meet the University's standards for educational excellence. We are seeking an enthusiastic anatomic pathologist to join a team of three faculty and one resident in our £11m purpose-built state-of-the-art Veterinary Pathology Centre. This on site role will enhance our 100 strong team of teaching and research staff in the University of Surrey School of Veterinary Medicine. The Veterinary Pathology Centre was built seven years ago and contains both a CL2 (containment level 2) post-mortem area with viewing gallery, and a CL3 post-mortem area. Private diagnostic post-mortems, and APHA (Animal Plant Health Agency) surveillance post-mortems are undertaken at the site.  The role The role will include undertaking diagnostic service, including biopsy and post-mortems, teaching final year (year 5) students on intramural rotations (IMR) post-mortem skills, and participating in lecturing, practical classes, and assessment of year 1-4 undergraduates. Supervision and participation in the residency programme is also expected, and you may be asked to provide CPD activities to external partners from time to time.  This is a permanent post subject to satisfactory performance and is based on site in Guildford. There would be opportunities for individuals to develop their career through research or other aspects as preferred. About you Successful candidates must have a veterinary degree that is registerable with the RCVS, have experience in surveillance and post-mortem services, and be interested in teaching and supervising students in the veterinary pathology aspects of our curriculum. To be successful in this role, you will have excellent communication skills, an appetite for innovative teaching, strong organisational skills and will enjoy working in a team. You will have an interest in broadening your veterinary profile through the development and delivery of undergraduate teaching in veterinary pathology and you will be supported in achieving this by participation in our inhouse, externally accredited Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education. In addition to completing this qualification, for those interested in developing further skills in education, study at Masters level (part-time) may also be supported (financially and in time allocation).
