This position is budgeted for $45.00 per hour and is non-negotiable.**Please submit a cover letter at the time of application.**SDSU Global Campus, American Language Institute (ALI) provides English language instruction to international students. Some of these students are preparing to matriculate to American universities, including SDSU.Teaching hours for this position can vary, but classes with ALI are typically offered Monday-Thursday 9:00 am - 3:45 pm and Friday from 9:30 am - 11:45 am. Classes are taught 100% in person through SDSU Global Campus.By applying to this position, your application will be kept on file for up to one year and may be contacted based on program needs.  

Responsibilities
Reporting to the IEP Director, the Part-time ESL Instructor is responsible for performing college-level classroom instruction. The instructor must be able to teach a variety of skills and subjects to students with English proficiency levels ranging from A1 to C2demonstrating teaching excellence and knowledge of subject matter.Classroom and Instruction Related 90%Teach a variety of skill areas and levels to meet program needs.Prepare and present course content in keeping with the course title, including multiple assessments or evaluations. Maintain a degree of quality instruction which will ensure a beneficial learning experience for students.Keep accurate records of student attendance and submit these as scheduled.Keep accurate records of student progress (grades) and complete final grade reports according to instructions and timetables.Develop curriculum at all levels, especially in new content areas.Provide a syllabus, calendar, and attendance policy for each class taught.Use audiovisual aids and other materials to supplement presentations.Non Instruction Related Support 5%Participate in orientation activities, as assigned.Advise students of ALI policies and events during class time.Attend staff and professional development meetings, as requested.Attend certificate ceremonies and other social activities; may conduct field trips.Ensure a smooth transition to university/college life for international students. Qualifications
Knowledge & AbilitiesKnowledge of the subject matter of the discipline to which the individual is assigned.Ability to relate well to others within the academic environment.Ability to instruct and evaluate students.Ability to independently use current technology, student management systems such as Canvas, and Google products.Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.Ability to be well organized, detail oriented, and possess good judgment and common sense.Demonstrate a high level of cross-cultural sensitivity.Minimum Education & ExperienceMaster's degree in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL), Applied Linguistics, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.Prior teaching experience in a university-affiliated Intensive English Program (IEP) or a comparable English as a Second Language (ESL) program.Current knowledge and expertise in the subject area.Preferred Qualifications & Special SkillsExcellent command of both written and spoken English.Foreign language proficiency and international living experience.TESL, TEFL, TESOL, or equivalent certification preferred. Our department and research environment

Applications are invited for a joint academic appointment as a Chancellor’s Fellow between the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) and the University of Strathclyde to develop a leading research programme in optical frequency metrology. The aim of the post is to develop and grow the strategic research partnership between the two organisations exploiting existing strengths and leveraging a ca. £1m investment by NPL in laboratory space and state-of-the-art microwave and optical frequency metrology equipment based at Strathclyde. The aspirations of the post are closely aligned with the UK Government’s strategic emphasis and investment in Quantum Technology in general and Timing in particular in support of Critical National Infrastructure.

The University of Strathclyde has established a position as a leading international centre for Quantum Technology research and innovation, covering activities from fundamental and applied research through to technology development and industrialisation. It is our stated aim to create and nurture a vibrant and internationally competitive cluster of research and innovation based on Quantum Physics. We are committed to creating the translational ecosystem required to develop, test, validate and demonstrate disruptive quantum technologies, and respond to current and future market demand. NPL is a world-leading centre of excellence that provides cutting-edge measurement science, engineering and technology to underpin prosperity and quality of life in the UK. The National Timing Centre (NTC) programme, led by NPL, seeks to establish a resilient time and frequency network in support of national priority areas as well as the acceleration of innovation in new technologies.

The post will be based in NPL’s timing innovation laboratory collocated with the Strathclyde Physics Department and closely linked with the activities of the Experimental Quantum Optics and Photonics Group. This laboratory is equipped with a microwave atomic clock linked to UTC(NPL), an optical frequency comb and an ultrastable laser, and has access to a commercial optical atomic clock. Of particular interest for the post is the establishment of an ambitious joint research programme in optical frequency metrology involving development and validation of optical frequency sources as well as their transfer through free-space links and as a basis for a technology pipeline necessary for responding to the needs of future timing infrastructure and applications.

The successful candidate is expected to have an internationally recognised track record in optical frequency metrology and applied Quantum Technology with demonstrated experience translating technology from the laboratory environment to real-world tests. They will be expected to lead a research programme of international standing, develop knowledge exchange opportunities, attract significant funding, publish in leading journals and contribute to teaching and management of the Department.

Working within the Institute for Mental and Physical Health and Clinical Translation (IMPACT), part of the School of Medicine, the Senior Administrative Coordinator provides comprehensive administrative and operational leadership and support associated with defined areas of responsibility to ensure the seamless functioning of the Institute and delivery of its many programs and initiatives. As a Senior Administrative Coordinator, you will:


	Take accountability for end-to-end research related programs including developing procedures. Provide clear instructions and expectations for all parties and complete systematic review, analysis and evaluation of program activities with a focus on return on investment and alignment with the Institutes research priorities.
	Provide advice to Institute Executive on all matters relating to the programs including financial information taking ownership of the program delivery.
	Coordinate and manage the IMPACT Conference travel support program. Strategically assess funding applications, monitor expenditures across systems, and collaborate with finance to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
	Be responsible for a range of upstream tasks related to recruitment, appointments and reappointments, including funding, resourcing, and compliance, honorary and visitor appointment and liaising with relevant areas to address enquiries and resolve issues related to all new research teams movements in and out of the Institute.
	Be the primary liaison between Deakin and University Hospital Geelong to lead the review and ongoing management of emergency management procedures and processes for the HERB site in line with Deakin and Barwon Health policies.
	Undertake reporting tasks including ad hoc and scheduled reports in a timely manner drawing accurate conclusions and condensing complex information into clear, concise themes for the Institute Executive.
	Support the Institute Executive Officer with budget and resource management and undertake projects and project tasks independently.
	Proactively identify and undertake a range of program review tasks, analysing and evaluating the success of various programs and prepare recommendations for the Institute Executive.


To be successful, you’ll have: 


	A Degree with, ideally, at least 4 years subsequent relevant experience.
	Experience in human resource administration, academic research administration, finance and related activities in a large organisation with complex administrative structures, policies and procedures.
	Experience in operating in a high-pressure diverse environment, involving face to face, phone and written issue.
	Excellent numerical skills to work with financial data and research related numerical information.
	Excellent written communication, interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to build strong relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and produce clear and accurate communications.
	Experience providing services and support in a large organisation in a research setting.

About the role

We are seeking an exceptional candidate for the position of Lecturer in Advanced Manufacturing. The successful applicant will conduct innovative research and teach across a broad range of areas, including advanced manufacturing, Industry 4.0, sustainable manufacturing, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering (both aeronautical and astronautical), computer-aided engineering, and advanced engineering materials. Proven research experience in one or more of these fields is essential, and evidence of successful grant applications is highly desirable.

We are looking for an outstanding researcher and educator with an emerging track record of impactful research, demonstrated by publications in top journals and peer-reviewed conferences. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to secure research funding and excellence in teaching and learning in higher education. The role involves collaborating with colleagues within the School and across the University, designing curriculum, teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and supervising undergraduate and postgraduate coursework and higher degree research students.

The successful candidate will also be expected to foster links with external partners, including industry, government, and community, as the School diversifies its income sources. The incumbent will be involved in a wide range of teaching activities, including developing and delivering innovative interdisciplinary academic programs related to advanced manufacturing and supervising student projects for national and international competitions. The appointee will develop and supervise projects addressing grand challenges with high impact, form strategic interdisciplinary teams, and identify and obtain research grants in collaboration with internal and external partners.

About You

The ideal candidate will hold a PhD or equivalent in Advanced Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Robotics and Automation, Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, or a closely related field. They will have demonstrated experience and achievements in areas such as advanced manufacturing, robotics, sustainable manufacturing, mechanical engineering, advanced materials, or computer-aided engineering. Experience in smart robotics, automation, and autonomous systems is highly desirable.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record and international reputation for excellence in research and development, evidenced by peer-reviewed publications in high-profile journals, patents, and/or Open Source developments. They will have established strong national and international research collaborations and other evidence of world-class international standing. Additionally, they will have proven leadership in research, fostering a robust research culture, and developing research initiatives, along with experience supervising research students at the Honours or higher degree level.

The candidate will demonstrate the capacity to secure substantial research funding from various sources, including competitive government grants and income from public and private sector agencies and industry. Remuneration Package: Academic Level B $139,458 to $164,559 p.a. (comprising Salary of $117,844 to $139,151 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading)
