About Caucasus International University

Basic information and contact details for Caucasus International University

institution

Caucasus International University, in Tbilisi, Georgia, was originally established as a medical institute in 1995. Over the years, the university has evolved, running as a Legal Entity of Private Law: a limited liability company.

In 2005, the university achieved a significant milestone by obtaining accreditation from the Accreditation Council of Higher Education Institutions, a recognition that solidified the university's commitment to keeping high standards of education and academic excellence.

The university offers a number of accredited programmes. During the period from 2012 to the present, CIU received accreditation for up to 30 undergraduate, one-cycle, postgraduate and PhD educational programmes. Caucasus International University has five faculties: medicine, social sciences, law, business and technology, and viticulture-winemaking.

The university is dedicated to supporting student employment during their studies and beyond. For this purpose, it has established a career development service that organises job fairs, inviting representatives from public and private sectors to help students find employment opportunities.

The university also encourages students to participate in various extracurricular activities and clubs. Students have access to public lectures, expeditions, art and music studios, sports facilities and intellectual competitions. These initiatives aim to promote holistic development and to provide students with opportunities to explore and enhance their talents and interests outside their academic study.

CIU's commitment to international collaboration is clear through its international-relations department, which actively engages with universities, research centres and organisations worldwide. The university takes part in student and faculty exchange programmes and international conferences. It also attracts international students, fostering a globally inclusive academic environment.
