Basic information and contact details for Christian Service University

institution

Christian Service University began with four houses and a radio studio. In 1974, a group of Ghanaian Christians dreamt of setting up an evangelical institution. Meanwhile, the missionary agency Worldwide Evangelisation for Christ had built the houses and radio studio on some land in Kumasi, Ghana's second city.

The two groups of evangelists merged their interests, and classes began in 1974, with four students. By 2020, CSU had become a full-fledged evangelical Christian university.

Today, CSU offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes across three faculties: business; health and applied sciences; and humanities. Undergraduate degrees are offered in subjects including marketing, human-resource management, communications, nursing, midwifery, information technology and, theology with administration.

Students are provided with accommodation in university hostels, and can choose whether to share with one, two or three other students. There is an active student union, which has been in operation since 1983.

In 2024, the university marked its 50th anniversary by launching a youth-development scholarship scheme, upgrading its information-technology infrastructure and launching a solar-energy project.
