Cihan University was founded in 2013, in the mountains of Iraqi Kurdistan.
Its 14 academic departments range from accounting to anaesthesia, via medical microbiology, pharmacy, law, English, fine arts and public education.
Its faculty members are trained locally and internationally.
Individual departments organise workshops, events and off-campus visits.
The campus is spacious, including medical units, complete with laboratories, a sports complex and library. There are two bright and airy campus cafeterias.
