Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

We are seeking a full-time Lecturer in Law at our Hamilton Campus. Preference may be given to applicants who have a research and teaching interest in one or more of the following areas: Torts, Business Law, Tikanga.

The role involves teaching relevant undergraduate and postgraduate courses, actively contributing to the research culture of the School of Law, Politics, and Philosophy, and supervising student research.

A demonstrated record of effective high-quality teaching, innovative pedagogy and delivery methods at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels is essential. The successful candidate will support the delivery of a range of Law undergraduate and postgraduate modules.

Salary will be in the range of $87,500 to $104,322 per year based on skills, knowledge and experience brought to the position. This is a full-time role (37.5 hours a week), based on our Hilcrest Campus.

An LLB or JD degree or equivalent, and/or LLM with equivalent professional experience, is essential. A PhD completed or near to completion is strongly preferred. Demonstrated experience in producing high quality research outputs internationally, along with the ability to undertake postgraduate supervision, is strongly preferred.

In addition, you will have excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills, and be able to work as part of a team.

Applicants are invited for the position of experienced Technician within the School of Electronics and Computer Science to support the Biomedical Engineering research environment. You will be responsible for organising the day to day running of a busy biomedical engineering research laboratory and be responsible for chemical and biological health and safety. You will also be expected to work in the University Fabrication facilities

You will have minimum skill level equivalent to HNC, A-Level, NVQ3 or equivalent qualification along with proven work experience. You should also demonstrate the ability to plan, organise and independently carry out a range of defined tasks and technical procedures using specialist equipment.

The appointment will be at the TAE (Technical and Experimental) Level 4.

You will have excellent technical and communication skills, with the ability to manage your own workload. You will be a positive and proactive problem solver with the ability to manage a mixture of different tasks ensuing that work is delivered on time and to a high standard. You will be a strong team player, but also be self-sufficient and able to work independently. You will be expected to have experience of managing a laboratory, or similar. Knowledge of health and safety in a laboratory environment is essential. Willingness to be trained in micro and nanofabrication is essential.

About Us

The Role

This is a new role created to enable a more strategic architectural approach to development and organisation of change projects that clearly demonstrate alignment with strategic objectives and business priorities. You will have knowledge and understanding of technology and its application in business contexts, proven experience of delivering strategically aligned outcomes and the ability to apply your experience within Higher Education.

You will have a highly professional approach and the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels and work collaboratively to gather, document and clearly communicate requirements, facilitate discussion and resolve tensions and difficulties as they arise.

	Demonstrate Teaching excellence and elevate nursing education through innovative teaching

	Position is located at La Trobe’s Bundoora Campus


About the position

The School of Nursing and Midwifery has immersed the curricula and research within a range of clinical contexts. The School offers undergraduate, postgraduate and higher degree research programs. An essential element is the establishment of Clinical Schools based at Alfred Health, Austin Health, Northern Health and Melbourne Health networks. The Clinical Schools enable students’ direct access to expert clinicians and clinical services and provide a rich environment for clinically relevant research and practice change and facilitate opportunities for staff to undertake clinical practice. The Bachelor of Nursing students are based at a clinical school for the third year of the program, with all relevant third year theory and clinical practicums provided within the clinical school networks. Bachelor of Nursing/Bachelor of Midwifery students are also placed at the Women’s and Mercy Hospitals.  The School has a long established national and international reputation in nursing and midwifery research and education and the Clinical Schools provide opportunities for educational innovations, including simulation and clinician facilitated student supervision. This position will be located at the Bundoora campus.

The School is seeking a teaching focussed Level B academic with expertise in contemporary nursing practice, and in facilitating undergraduate and postgraduate education.  

Duties at this level will include:


	Coordinate and teach subjects providing a high-quality learning experience that engages students through the conduct of lectures, tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops, student field excursions, clinical sessions and/or other sessions in online, blended or face-to-face modes.
	Provide constructive, fair and timely feedback on learning to students.
	Prioritise the embedding of employability capabilities in the curriculum.
	Lead and implement teaching improvement projects at subject, course or discipline level.
	With mentoring support, as appropriate, obtain funding from internal or external sources for teaching improvement projects.
	Provide principle or co-supervision to Honours and Masters by coursework students.
	Seek approval to undertake co-supervision of Graduate research candidates.


Skills and knowledge required for the position:


	Registered or eligible to register as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
	A Masters in a Nursing or Midwifery related discipline.
	Experience in tertiary nursing education, including demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, curriculum development and subject coordination in face-to-face, blended and/or online modes, as evidenced by sustained high results on student feedback on teaching surveys, teaching excellence awards or through other forms of evidence.
	Demonstrated ability to influence the teaching practice of others. 


Highly Desirable:


	A PhD in nursing or related discipline.
	Postgraduate studies in Child, Family and Community Health and be eligible to work as a Maternal and Child Health in Victoria.
	Evidence of innovative initiatives undertaken in the last three years that have improved the student experience, and the evaluation of effectiveness of these initiatives.
	Ability to produce outputs related to the Scholarship of Learning and Teaching.
	Graduate Certificate in Higher Education or similar evidence of professional preparation for, and continuous professional development in, higher education teaching.

The Department of Government, subunit of the Faculty of Social Sciences, is looking for a university assistant (predoc) in research areas represented at the Department of Government, especially on political representation, party competition, political institutions, or political behaviour.

Your role:

As a University Assistant (predoc), you will be part of our research team and participate in the academic life at the department while pursuing your doctoral research. The focus of our research is in the field of Comparative Politics, broadly conceived.

The employment duration is 4 years. Initially limited to 1.5 years, the employment relationship is automatically extended to 4 years if the employer does not terminate it within the first 12 months by submitting a non-extension declaration.

	Pursuing your doctoral research independently with the support of two academic supervisors from the department
