Founded in 2004, Dhofar University (DU) is located in Oman. The campus is spread over a large area and it has a seamless blend of both modern and traditional Omani architecture. It can accommodate up to 10,000 students at one time.
It’s the only university in the region offering both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. These are offered within four colleges, which are: arts and applied sciences, commerce and business administration, engineering and law.
The medium of instruction is largely in English, however there are a few programmes offered in Arabic.
On campus, DU provides free furnished accommodation for its female students on-campus as well as local transportation facilities. There are four accommodation buildings in total which can accommodate up to 1,000 students. Facilities available inside the hostel include a restaurant, supermarket, study hall, gymnasium and recreation rooms.
On campus, there are two separate cafeterias for male and female students as well as a centrally located mosque and an on-campus health clinic. High speed WIFI is available in all the buildings and the campus.
The Student Affairs Department is responsible for overseeing all students' affairs. The office can also assist students in planning and arranging many student functions on and off-campus. Throughout the year, there are art exhibitions, performances, poetry readings, environmental awareness events and presentations.
