Situated in the South of Nigeria, Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) was established in 1980. While its main campus is at Enugu, it was conceived as a multi-campus university.
Changes to internal Nigerian boundaries meant that previous campuses were lost to a neighbouring state. But ESUT today remains a multi-site university, with campuses in Enugu and Agbani, and for its medical college.
There are 11 faculties, including two for medicine and one for pharmaceutical sciences, as well as for education, engineering and social sciences and humanities. The university also runs three enterprises: a dairy and poultry farm, a bookshop and a car-maintenance garage.
A university career service was inaugurated in August 2024, to help enhance ESUT students’ employability after graduation.
