Description

The Healy Laboratory in the Chemistry Program of the Division of Sciences at New York University Abu Dhabi seeks to recruit a Post-doctoral Associate starting September 2025. Applicants with backgrounds in synthetic organic and medicinal chemistry are encouraged to apply. The research is aimed at developing an automated chemical platform for the synthesis and biological evaluation of natural products as leads for a drug discovery program. The lab and the core research facilities at NYUAD are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for organic synthesis (https://healylab.com/).  

Applicants must have received a Ph.D. in chemistry or related subject or be within a few months from completion. We encourage applications from candidates with significant research experience in the synthesis of complex molecules, particularly polyketides. Knowledge of synthetic automation/chemical engineering, biosynthesis or chemical biology is desired, but not required. Excellent communication skills in English, ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams, and scientific creativity are essential.

The terms of employment include highly competitive salary, housing allowance and educational subsidies for children. The Department is now inviting applications for the post of Associate Professor / Assistant Professor. The appointee is expected to contribute to high quality research, teaching, and service.

General Requirements

Candidates should have a PhD degree in Accountancy. For appointment as Associate Professor, candidates should have at leave five years of relevant experience and a sound track record in research and scholarly activities. For appointment as Assistant Professor, candidates should have relevant teaching experience, a good research record and must demonstrate good potential in publishing high-quality papers. Top-tier publications and successful GRF applications will be advantages.

Lingnan University pursues excellence in both teaching and research. The appointee is expected to apply for external competitive grants, and commit to teaching excellence and active services to the Department, the Faculty, and the University. Applicants are required to provide information on their work experience, qualifications, research records, and evidence of quality teaching. Appointment

The conditions of appointment will be competitive. The rank and remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will normally be made on an initial contract of three years, which, subject to review and mutual agreement, may lead to longer-term appointment with possibility of consideration for substantiation.

NMIS seeks to appoint a Workshop Technician to support the operation of specialised equipment within its workshops. You will be primarily responsible for the set-up, operation and maintenance of machine shop CNC 5-Axis equipment used in relation to the delivery of industrial and academic research programmes.

To be considered for this role you will be educated to a minimum of HNC level or equivalent; or have relevant work experience in a similar role. You will have significant knowledge and expertise in multi axis CNC machining including: setting, programming and operation, and be able to interpret engineering drawings. You will have excellent troubleshooting skills, including a methodical approach to solving complex problems, with limited guidance. You will have an ability to work autonomously, prioritising and coordinating your own workload and making decisions with minimum supervision in order to meet project deadlines and you will have the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Whilst not essential for the role, applications are welcomed from candidates with experience of supporting production, and research and development manufacturing requirements.

About the Role

This position will be employed as part of the newly awarded ARC Linkage grant, titled "Secure Management of Internet of Things Data for Critical Surveillance," with RMR Process Pty Ltd as the industry partner. This position will primarily be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing sensing, monitoring, and information systems for industry applications. While a PhD degree is not required, this position should have industry experience in integrating sensing, secure networking, data management, and data visualisation systems and a good understanding of industry needs. Extensive publications are not necessary, but a few in reputable venues (e.g., A* conferences/journals) are desirable.

About You

Essential criteria


	Industry Experience: Demonstrated industry experience in managing, building, and testing large-scale distributed computing systems (e.g. Edge, IoT, I4.0), evidenced by involvement in several industry projects.
	Technical Experience:  exposure to Python, JavaScript, Node-Red, Ladder Logic, Structured Text, or equivalent, knowledge of AWS and other cloud technologies, knowledge of PostgreSQL, Grafana, and other database and dashboard systems, knowledge of MQTT, OPC UA and other industrial communication protocols, basic electronics and sensor integration.
	Work Ethic: A strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a broader team, including collaboration with industrial partners.
	Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills suitable for interacting with higher-degree research candidates, staff, and industry partners, coupled with a strong commitment to teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration.


Desirable criteria


	Research Experience: Proven research experience in sensor networks or I4.0 systems, demonstrated by a few top-tier publications. The candidate should have minimal publications in lower-rate conferences and journals, with preference for A*-rated venues.
	Research Track Record: An emerging track record and recognition for quality research outputs in sensing, information, and data management systems, including developing new research initiatives, securing competitive research funding, and establishing industry links.


Qualifications: An undergraduate/postgraduate in Computer Science/Engineering related field is desirable

We are seeking a Research Assistant to work in the marine modelling group of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. The successful candidates will join our team working on applying and extending the scope of the StrathE2E marine ecosystem model for regions of the Atlantic Ocean (https://outreach.mathstat.strath.ac.uk/apps/StrathE2EApp/), contributing to research being carried out in the Mission Atlantic (https://missionatlantic.eu) research programme.

The successful applicants will have obtained at least an honours degree and preferably a Masters in a quantitative field of marine environmental science. They will need to demonstrate an up-to-date knowledge of research on marine fisheries and/or climate change, and their effects on food webs and the marine environment. They will also show an aptitude for writing research reports, and have experience of coding in R.
