What you can expect:

The Department for Tax Law is looking for a research assistant (prae doc) with strong interest in issues concerning tax law in order to support research and teaching in the fields of tax law. The announcement is made for four years, whereby the employment relationship is initially limited to 1.5 years and is automatically extended to a total of four years, unless the employer submits a declaration of non-renewal after a maximum of 12 months.

Your future tasks:

You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means:


	We expect you to finalize your dissertation agreement within 12-18 months.
	You participate in publications / academic articles.
	You are involved in research projects and scientific studies .
	 Yor are involved in the organisation of conferences, meetings, symposiums.
	You apply for projects and raise (external) funds.
	Independent teaching of courses defined by the collective agreement
	You supervize students.
	You participate in evaluation activities and in quality assurance
	You take on administrative tasks in research, teaching and administration.

The Department of Public Health and Epidemiology invites applications for Associate Professor position in Health Economics & Public Health Policy & Systems.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess a Ph.D. degree in Health Economics, Health Systems and related disciplines from an accredited institution, along with a minimum of 8 years of experience relevant to the position, out of which at least 5 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor. Preference will be given to applicants with strong educational backgrounds from distinguished institutions with a solid publication track record.

The successful candidates will engage in competitive and impactful research, teach graduate courses, supervise and mentor graduate students, and actively participate in the active Khalifa University’s academic community. We are particularly interested in candidates who have:


	Demonstrated expertise in Health Economics, Public Health Policy and Health Systems.

The successful candidate will assist research activities to support the Mental Health Guidelines for United Kingdom and Ireland Community Sport research project.

The post holder will:


	Assist in recruitment of participants, data collection and analysis.
	Contribute to produce high quality research outputs in oral and written format, consistent with project aims andcommensurate with career stage. This will include collaborating and co-authoring with PI and project team (as appropriate) on outputs.
	In consultation with the project team, promote research milestones and outputs at national and internationalconferences.
	Assist grant holder in the preparation of funding proposals and applications to external bodies
	Carry out occasional educational supervision, demonstrating or lecturing duties within the post holder's area ofexpertise and under the direct guidance of a member of academic staff.

We are excited to invite applications for a Research Fellow (Veterinary Vaccine development) position funded by industry. The position will be based in the School of Biosciences at the University of Surrey, but it will involve working closely with colleagues in the School of Veterinary Medicine. You will be part of a team in a vibrant, interdisciplinary research environment with a strong international reputation.

The main focus of the project will be to develop novel bacterial vaccines for livestock pathogens in collaboration with colleagues in academia and industry. Therefore, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in microbiology, molecular biology and phenotypic assays. You will be an important member of a research team focused on understanding the pathogenesis and control of endemic bacterial diseases of livestock and poultry. You will be a member of the La Ragione Research group, and the project will run in parallel with BBSRC, EPSRC, MRC, AHRC, EU, charity and commercially funded projects in the areas of bacterial host-microbe interactions, novel interventions and AMR.

You will be based in the School of Biosciences (Stag Hill campus), but will also work in the School of Veterinary Medicine (Manor Park campus). You will be part of a rapidly growing and dynamic discipline and wider Faculty network of scientists. The post holder will work closely with colleagues in industry and some national/EU travel may be required.

Your personal sphere of play:

Your future position will be at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences - Division for Pharmaceutical Technology & Biopharmacy - Working Group of Prof. Christoph Rademacher - Molecular drug targeting. The position is advertised for the duration of an employee's absence until August 7, 2025 and can be extended if necessary. The Molecular Drug Targeting Lab is a new working group within the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. We are an international team working on the development of novel drug delivery platforms for the modulation of immune cells in various indications. In our interdisciplinary team we bring together expertise from biochemistry, structural biology, cell biology and immunology. Using the most modern techniques from drug discovery, using biophysical methods such as NMR spectroscopy, we develop substances for basic research in immunology and glycobiology. These are then translated into potential therapies. The candidate is therefore part of a rapidly developing environment in which interdisciplinary basic research is promoted in order to bring it into application. We are currently developing our innovative Langerhans Cell Targeted Delivery System (LC-TDS) for new immunotherapies - such as antiviral vaccines and treatments for autoimmune diseases. The LC-TDS enables a reduction in the active ingredient load and an increase in effectiveness and therefore offers very good control when administering vaccines and can also be administered transdermally in a minimally invasive manner.

Your future tasks:

Active participation in research, teaching & administration, which means:


	Technical support and management of research projects in the Molecular Drug Targeting working group, particularly with regard to immunological studies on the active transport of active ingredients at the site of action in the skin. Background knowledge in the area of ​​dendritic cells and their use in immunotherapy is expected.
	Complement and expand existing expertise in the implementation of preclinical in vivo mouse models as well as in the planning and execution of in vitro and in vivo experiments.
	Publication of research results in peer-reviewed international journals.
	Holding teaching to the extent of the collective agreement provision.
	Assistance with administration.
	You will take on administrative tasks in research and teaching.


This is part of your personality:


	Completed doctorate/PHD degree in immunology, dermatology or related areas.
	Additional postdoctoral training in this field is helpful.
	Practical experience and certified knowledge in handling and breeding mice in immunological research.
	Experience supervising students (BSc, MSc and PhD).
	High level of written and oral expression
	Research expertise and initiative demonstrated through international publications in peer-relevant media
	Experience in research management and in leading project staff
	Background knowledge in DC-based vaccines, mRNA design and delivery, autoimmune diseases, vaccines, dermatology, Langerhans cells, FELASA certificates is desirable.
