Haigazian University is located near the centre of Beirut, Lebanon.
It was named after the Armenian theological and polymath Armenag Haigazian.
It was founded as a college that offered two years of university-level education in 1955, became a university college in 1992 and a full university in 1996.
It remains a small university with a student population of approximately 650 students.
The student body divides across faculties of business administration and economics, social and behavioural sciences, humanities and sciences (which includes departments of mathematical and natural science).
The Armenian Diaspora Research Centre was created in 2012.
