Iloilo Science and Technology University was given university status in 2013. It can trace its roots back to the foundation of Iloilo Trade School in 190.
The first degree courses were introduced in 1951 and graduate provision from 1976. It spent 30 years as Western Visaya College of Science and Technology before the merger with four other institutions that created its current incarnation.
Students can study across schools of business and management, arts and sciences, engineering and technology, life sciences and medicine, natural sciences and social sciences and management.
There are five campuses, all inherited from the merger with the main campus in the La Paz district of Iloilo City.
