About the Role

As Senior Lecturer (Teaching and Research), you will be a key member of the academic staff of Speech Pathology in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. The incumbent will contribute to high quality and innovative research, including scholarship, publication, external grant acquisition, mentoring and aiding in the development of early career researchers consistent with the Caring Futures Institute Research Strategy.

The Senior Lecturer will also play a lead role in the planning, delivery and evaluation of learning experiences for students. This may include lectures, tutorials, laboratory-based material, curriculum development or other modes of teaching, such as placement education for topics, primarily within the suite of Speech Pathology topics.

About You

You will be committed to fostering a highly supportive education environment by utilising your exceptional communication, mentoring and interpersonal skills to maintain strong relationships with a diverse range of staff, students, and industry stakeholders.

With a demonstrated and successful track record and significant evidence of relevant teaching experience at tertiary level, you also have experience in the supervision of higher degree students and other post-graduate course work students undertaking research projects.

You will also be able to demonstrate:


	Completion of a PhD or EdD or equivalent qualification in a health-related field relevant to Speech Pathology or any one of the following:
	Evidence of peer-reviewed independent research demonstrated to be of an equivalent standard in the discipline area.
	Evidence of professional standing, reputation and qualifications demonstrated to be of an equivalent standard in the discipline area.
	Completion of a higher degree at Masters level or substantial progress towards a doctoral degree in the discipline area.
	Relevant and contemporary experience as a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist in the area of child language and literacy and disability.
	Evidence of a strong research track record (for career stage) in an area of strategic research focus for the Caring Futures Institute, including evidence of sustained high-quality publications with evident senior authorship contribution and attraction of external competitive grants.
	Hold and maintain a current membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
	Experience in topic coordination, course coordination and/or curriculum design.

The role

An exciting opportunity for a vHive Laboratory Technician in the School of Veterinary Medicine. The Veterinary Health Innovation Engine is a cross-disciplinary entity dedicated to the generation of data and then taking such data, turning it into information and thereby developing tools, approaches and devices to improve animal health.

There has been a significant development in measurement technologies applied to human medicine research and diagnostic tool generation. We are applying these same approaches to veterinary medicine. Thus, much of the platform development work has been achieved in our lab and the labs of others. Our role is the application of relatively standard procedures to veterinary medicine research.

We have extensive capabilities in measuring bio-samples, with the aim of using these to improve human and veterinary health. The post holder will contribute to the team’s mission by recording the use of and preparing samples for measurement techniques to be run and also running these measurement techniques, recording results.

About you

The successful candidate will have a qualification at NQF level 6 (such as a bachelor’s degree) in a relevant biological science or chemistry subject or QCF level 2 passes (such as GCSE’s) in English and Mathematics and at least one Science subject and substantial relevant experience of working in a research laboratory.

Knowledge of and compliance with relevant Health and Safety regulation, the Data Protection Act, Standard Operating Procedures and risk assessments including COSHH risk assessments is desirable.

The Digital Manufacturing Engineer will require knowledge and technical expertise in the following areas;


	Knowledge and experience with manufacturing systems engineering.
	Data acquisition from a variety of sources including machine programming logic controllers (PLC’S), sensors, embedded sensors and edge devices.
	Knowledge and working understanding of networking and integration of data acquisition solutions for manufacturing facilities both wired and wireless i.e 5G / 4G / LoRaWAN, NB-IoT etc.
	Analytical skills in manufacturing data sources for manufacturing and operations management.
	Creation of dashboards and other visualization toolsets for visualization of manufacturing datasets.
	Cyber-Security processes, best practice and implementation.


The Digital Manufacturing Engineer will be expected to work between NMIS, University of Strathclyde and Industry partners to develop strong knowledge exchange activities including collaborative research and development. The Digital Manufacturing Engineer will require the knowledge, skills and experience normally associated with a first degree and/or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering. The Digital Manufacturing Engineer will support research and development programmes on intelligent manufacturing, smart factory systems, digital transformation of industrial enterprises, and will be involved in academic research into one or more of these processes. The postholder shall have knowledge and experience in the following technology areas; Industrial Programming Logic Controllers (PLC’s), Communication and Data Exchange Protocols (OPC-UA, Modbus, etc.), Sensor Technologies, Data Storage, Systems Integration, Network Infrastructure and Cyber-Security.

Located at the Adelaide Medical School, the Dame Roma Mitchell Cancer Research Laboratories (DRMCRL) led by Professor Wayne Tilley, is an internationally recognised multidisciplinary collaborative research program investigating mechanistic and therapeutic aspects of sex hormone receptor action in breast and prostate cancers.

Our laboratory uses cutting edge methods (multi-omics, single-cell, genome editing as well as contemporary pre-clinical model systems) and bioinformatics to understand how sex hormone receptors and associated transcription factors regulate breast and prostate cancer development and progression, with research programs spanning discovery, drug development and clinical translation.

We are seeking a passionate and driven postdoctoral researcher with relevant expertise in sex hormone receptor and more broadly transcription factor biology to build on our recent advances in harnessing the natural antagonism between estrogen and androgen hormone signalling to develop safer, more effective treatment and prevention strategies for breast cancer. To be successful in this role, you should have experience with relevant molecular and cell biology techniques (e.g., ChIP-seq to determine genome-wide transcription factor binding to DNA and complementary genomic / spatial technologies) to generate new knowledge about how sex hormones affect breast cancer cells, a strong publication record and be motivated to independently drive a research project.

This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with an international, multidisciplinary team of scientists, clinicians and consumer advocates. You will have the opportunity to work within a dynamic and collaborative environment and contribute to groundbreaking discoveries that impact the field of cancer research by improving disease outcomes for breast and prostate cancer patients.

To be successful you will need:


	A PhD in cell biology, biochemistry, genetics, bioinformatics, computational biology or other related subject.
	Laboratory experience in a wide range of standard molecular and cell biology techniques such as mammalian cell culture, in vivo tumour growth models, nucleic acid isolation, and DNA/RNA/protein extraction and analysis, with the ability to rapidly learn new techniques.
	A record of quality research in relevant fields, as evidenced by conference presentations and publications in leading journals (commensurate with experience).
	Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform independent research and creatively tackle experimental challenges.
	Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills along with meticulous research record-keeping.
