Founded in 2004, the Institut Universitaire d’Abidjan is a private university in the capital city of the Côte d’Ivoire. Its stated goal is to train workers – “the leaders of tomorrow” – for the changing job market.
The Institut has eight faculties: law; business administration; economics; information and communication; political science; science and technology; development studies; and business and technology. It is partnered with universities in France, allowing for subsidised study-abroad options.
The Institut runs several subject-related associations for students, which effectively function as professional networks, linking current students with one another, and with university alumni. Clubs include the Juvenile Quill, a reading and writing club. There is also an advocacy and public-speaking club, a law society and a sports club.
