Jaypee University of Engineering and Technology, Guna was established in 2010, in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. Its campus sits on a major highway linking Agra, home of the Taj Mahal, to the major city of Mumbai.
It is one of four specialist engineering universities established by JSS, an educational initiative that recognises the role that technology will play in improving the quality of life for people in India.
It serves a rural, agricultural region, with potential to develop into a major industrial hub. The aim is to provide the region with well-trained technical workers.
The university aims to offer a full range of degrees in emerging technologies. It runs four-year undergraduate programmes in subjects such as chemical engineering, civil engineering and computer science and engineering, as well as master’s and doctoral programmes.
JUET’s 125-acre campus includes state-of-the-art laboratories and a well-stocked library. Student clubs generally reflect the university’s degree focus, and include the chemical engineering forum, the Indian Concrete Institute student chapter and the cyber-security club.
