The university offers programmes within the faculty of economics and faculty of science. International students who wish to take part in courses taught in Japanese need to pass an N2 level of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) or a letter from your exchange university to confirm your Japanese is equivalent or higher than an N2 level. Most students are housed in residential areas about 10 to 30 minutes' walk from Togane Station and one stop away from the JIU campus. The university has formed partnerships with five universities in Canada, Taiwan, South Korea and Malaysia.

About the role We are looking for a Senior Programme Officer to join our Professional Services team, working within the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at one of the most prestigious universities in the UK. The roles offer an exciting opportunity to anyone who is interested in providing high quality comprehensive support for undergraduate, postgraduate and distance learning programmes. The Digital Humanities department has well established undergraduate and postgraduate programmes aswell as online and transnational provision. You will act as the first point of contact for all students, academic staff and key external contacts, providing a professional, supportive, responsive and personable service. The role supports processes within our main workstreams of Assessment and Award, Programme Planning and Delivery and Student Communications and Knowledge. You will ensure accurate and timely record management across multiple systems across the whole academic cycle. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT. This project focuses on federated causal inference in heterogeneous data environments, addressing the challenge of enabling trustworthy causal analysis across distributed datasets while preserving privacy. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end investigation of novel federated learning strategies for causal inference. The role will bridge rigorous theoretical work with hands-on algorithm design and development on real-world datasets. The core responsibility is to build and validate federated causal inference algorithms through simulations and live demonstrations. Key Responsibilities Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI) to ensure all project deliverables are met. Derivation of novel performance metrics for federated causal inference algorithms. Analysis of causal inference models in federated settings using synthetic and real-world datasets. Design and development of novel federated causal inference algorithms and associated software APIs. Validation of algorithms via simulations and live demonstrations. Job Requirements A Master's degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or equivalent. Strong theoretical background in statistics and machine learning. Knowledge of the basics of federated learning and causal inference is highly encouraged. Proven track record in research and development of machine learning algorithms. Proficiency in algorithm development using Python and ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow. The project is led by CSIRO with the University of Sydney leading the component on the assessment of soil health using remote sensing. The postdoctoral position will be based in the Precision Agriculture, Hydrology and Geoinformation Science Laboratory (PAHGISL) at the University of Sydney. About Us The King’s Health Partners Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre (ECMC) is one of 29 centres across the UK and specialises in new molecular and cellular cancer immunotherapies. The KHP ECMC has been awarded funding for a further 5-years to expand their trials portfolio, including agents discovered and developed by King’s College London researchers. With an extensive portfolio of early phase and translational clinical trials, there is an increasing requirement for tissue sampling and complex sample preparation. The post is based within KHP Cancer Biobank, part of the School of Cancer and Pharmaceutical Sciences. About The Role The successful candidate will support the ongoing expansion of trial-related sample handling and processing. This work requires effective monitoring, collection, and processing of patient samples in accordance with defined protocols. The postholder will have a broad knowledge and experience of sample handling. The translational lab can be supporting 20 or more trials at any one time and the postholder will be responsible for delivering a reliable and accurate service. This requires good organisational and planning skills. The postholder may be required to communicate complex information clearly and concisely with the clinical trial team members. Alongside clinical trial activities, the successful candidate will provide support to the Cancer Biobank. This will primarily involve processing biological fluids, which may include periods of intense activity. Both clinical trial and biobank activities are undertaken within a tightly regulated environment. The postholder will be required to actively participate in the quality management system. However, evolution of systems is encouraged to improve efficiency and sustainability. Whilst sample collection should be scheduled in advance, a flexible approach is required as these may be at locations other than Guy’s Hospital and are dependent upon other Trust service providers.
