Karaganda Medical University has a history that dates back to 1931 when a medical university was founded in Alma-Ata. In 1940 it was moved to Karaganda city where there was a growing need to open a medical institute. It wasn’t until 1950 that the institute first opened its doors to students.
The university is situated in Karaganda, a city in the central highlands of Kazakhstan.
The university offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate degree programmes in various medical fields including medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, and public health. Karaganda is committed to providing a comprehensive and holistic education that prepares students to meet the challenges of modern healthcare.
In 1966, the university opened the Central Research Laboratory.
