Location: Bedford Park / Kaurna Country View position description About the Role The Student Communication & Engagement Officer is critical to making a difference to the student experience, as you implement student communication plans and activities that focus on enhancing student engagement and success across the University. The position focuses on creating and distributing compelling digital content, managing social media channels, and designing physical marketing materials to increase awareness of events, programs and critical university services while monitoring metrics for improvement. As a part of the Student Life division the Student Communication & Engagement Officer works closely across College and Portfolio areas to enhance communication and digital student information to also increase awareness of the services and activities designed to support student commencement, orientation, transition and progression, which ultimately contributes to enhancing the student experience. Some of the key accountabilities of the role are: Working in collaboration with the Student Communication and Engagement Coordinator, developing and implementing integrated communication and promotional strategies to support student engagement and success across the University. Planning, creating, and maintaining engaging content across official social media platforms including producing content that celebrates student achievements and promotes campus activities. A core focus of the role is the creation and delivery of targeted EDM campaigns to engage student audiences, building precise recipient lists, segmenting audiences and manage scheduling. Examinations Invigilator – 0667-26 Primary Location (Regularly): Highfield Campus  Department: Student & Education Services, Exams & Awards Team  Salary: paid at £12.90 p/h. Would you like to work as an Examinations Invigilator for the University of Southampton during the 2025/26 academic year and beyond? Exams are run in January, May/June and August. Be part of the world-renowned WorldPop Group at the University of Southampton, a global top 100 university (QS World Rankings 2021). WorldPop is an award winning, multi-sectoral team of researchers, technicians and project specialists working on producing data on population distributions and characteristics at high spatial resolution.  We are seeking to recruit a Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow to work on the development and implementation of methods for improving small area modelled human population estimates. The successful candidate is expected to have strong quantitative skills and experience of working with large gridded geospatial datasets. They will focus on designing approaches to process and utilise such datasets in population modelling and integrate them into WorldPop’s workflows to construct high resolution national, regional and global demographic estimates. They will explore, test and validate novel statistical and AI methods, working with partners from governments and UN agencies to big tech and satellite imagery companies. These may include derived datasets such as building footprints, geo-embeddings, or datasets derived from mobile phones and social media. Work will also involve exploration of urban characteristics and dynamics. The post holder will be expected to work within a team of researchers and partner organizations to contribute to the development and implementation of methods and impactful applications of the results. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to and lead projects from across the WorldPop portfolio. They will also lead and contribute to the preparation of high-quality publications and will also be supported to present outputs to stakeholders and at national and international conferences. Further, the individual will contribute to external engagement across the WorldPop group, providing opportunities to work with UN agencies, governments and researchers around the world. As our Student Success & Wellbeing Coordinator, you will lead the strategic delivery of student success and wellbeing services and initiatives to ensure the delivery of high-quality guidance and support to students. The position is responsible for the operational oversight of the Student Success and Wellbeing Advisor (SSWA) team, including managing the team's workflow, triaging and allocation of student cases and implementation of quality assurance processes to enhance the student experience, retention, and success. As a member of the Student Life division, the Student Success and Wellbeing Coordinator leads the identification and execution of proactive outreach campaigns, events, and interventions across the student lifecycle. The role acts as a primary liaison between Student Life, the Colleges, and student service areas across the University. The role also works collaboratively with Student Success Leads to design and monitor targeted support services for specific equity cohorts. This is a hugely rewarding role, as you lead the design and execution of targeted outreach campaigns focusing on critical milestones like orientation, census dates, and academic progress cycles, and see the results first-hand. Some out of hours, weekend and travel may be required. Other key position responsibilities include: Acting as an escalation point for SSWAs, providing specialized guidance on sensitive and high-risk matters. Providing one to one case management for students to support their wellbeing and academic needs.
