Based in Nigeria’s capital city, Lagos State University of Education was formed following the merger of two colleges of education owned by the Lagos state government. Although one of the colleges was older and larger than the other, the two campuses now have equal status under the LASUED umbrella.
Each campus retains its original name. There is the Adeniran Ogunsanya campus, in Oto/Ijanikin, and the Michael Otedola campus, in Noforija, Epe.
Both campuses offer 67 degree courses, falling within seven faculties: the college of humanities education; the college of science education; the college of information and technology education; the college of vocational and entrepreneurship education; the college of management and social-sciences education; the college of specialised and professional education; and the college of languages and communication arts education.
The university publishes five academic journals on issues of education.
