The Maritime University of Szczecin is a Polish public university that dates back to 1947, focusing on subject areas that advance those in the maritime industries.
The university has five faculties: navigation, marine engineering, engineering and economics of transport, computer science and telecommunications, and mechatronics and electrical engineering. Across these faculties, the university offers 12 undergraduate bachelor of science programmes and six postgraduate master of science courses.
In addition, prospective students can explore seven non-degree programmes offered at the university to educate highly qualified marine crew through qualification courses such as master mariner, as well as specialised courses such as radar equipment operator, and courses covering new rules and regulations.
The Maritime University of Szczecin has marine technology to aid students in their studies, such as 17 technically advanced simulators, a modern research training vessel, and 100 laboratories. The m/v Navigator XXI is the university’s modern research training vessel and is used for navigation and engineer operation training, water and soil sampling, as well as sea monitoring.
In their downtime, students can enjoy a variety of facilities and activities on campus such as the swimming pool and university sports club.
The university has international partnerships that allow staff and students the opportunity to learn from other institutions across the world. Students can enrol in the Erasmus programme to participate in international study exchanges throughout their course. The university also carries out joint projects such as its recent project with Horizon2020.
