Appointment as Assistant Professor will be made on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract. Applicants should possess a PhD degree in Art History or a related field. The position is open to all subfields, preference will be given to candidates with the ability to teach introductory courses in modern and contemporary art of Europe and the Americas. The appointee will also supervise postgraduate students and should exhibit a strong interest in, and commitment to, integrating digital technologies and AI into teaching and research. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a vigorous, independent research programme; excel in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and curriculum development; and undertake administrative duties as required. Job Purpose At SIT's Professional Officers Division, we bring our rich industry experience and technical skills into our work, creating a better physical environment where learning and innovation take place. We work with teaching programmes and innovation projects to improve the skills of our students and to strengthen & energise our industry and the wider community. A Professional Officer has a combination of job responsibilities relating to the following: participate in and manage innovation projects, manage digital technology related resources, and mentor & facilitate student learning. The Centre for Digital Enablement (CoDE) drives the initiatives to elevate digital competencies for academic staff and students within SIT. It works with various stakeholders, both internal and external, in upskilling digital literacy across the organization through literacy programmes and digital innovation projects in relation to the Digital Learning Spaces (DLS). For this role, you will spearhead the various cybersecurity enablement programmes in SIT, manage the cybersecurity related resources and initiatives within CoDE, and lead cybersecurity projects within SIT and with industry partners to support teaching and learning objectives. You will also be responsible for developing and delivering digital literacy courses to undergraduate students and academic staff as part of the institutional drive to ensure our graduates are ready for a highly digitally-enabled workforce. Key Responsibilities Cybersecurity Enablement Programmes Develop and own the Cybersecurity Competency Roadmap, providing guidance for SIT undergraduate students and academic staff in developing their cybersecurity competencies. Job Requirements A good degree in Computer Science or a related field. Masters, PhD and/or relevant professional certifications would be advantageous. 10+ years of working experience, including at least 5 in cybersecurity related fields. Proven experience in developing and deploying secure enterprise software solutions. Good programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, C++, JavaScript, etc. Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). The Professional Officers Division (POD) houses a centralized pool of academic staff under the Professional Officers scheme. Professional Officers come with specialised and deep technical skills acquired through extensive industry experience. They form the talent pool which brings a much-needed industry perspective to student learning. They facilitate applied learning and applied research in SIT, complementing the academic expertise of the faculty to bring industry practices and applications into the curriculum. Professional Officers leverage on their industry experiences to create authentic learning environments, where discovery and innovation take place. They act as coaches and mentors to students during practical learning activities such as laboratory sessions, Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Professional Officers could also lead or work with faculty on industry innovation projects to provide solutions to the industry. In addition to their role in applied learning and applied research, Professional Officers manage the centralised laboratory facilities and resources in SIT.
