The SAIT Polytechnic is a polytechnic institute in Calgary, Alberta. Set up in 1916, it is Calgary's second oldest post-secondary institution and Canada's first publicly funded technical institute.
The institution has grown to offer over 100 career programmes, over 1,300 continuing education courses and corporate training courses to more than 200 companies annually.
There are nine academic schools covering the following subjects; advanced digital technology; business; construction; energy; health and public safety; hospitality and tourism; information and communications technologies; manufacturing; and automation and transportation.
Students at SAIT Polytechnic can partake in hands-on learning in labs and classrooms, solution-focused research, a focus on digital literacy, and enterprising collaborations with industry partners.
The Campus Centre contains a coffee house, bar, gymnasium, fitness centre, squash courts, bowling alley, hockey arena, saltwater pool and theatre. Notable alumni of SAIT polytechnic include the politicians Robert Alford, Ken Allred, Evan Berger and Jason Hale.
