An offshoot of the Ghanaian University for Development Studies, the Simon Diedong Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (SDD-UBIDS) was established in 2019, and was officially opened in May 2020. Its main campus is in Bamahu, in the municipality of Wa, in North-Western Ghana.
The university’s 28 departments are arranged into eight faculties: the faculty of integrated development studies; the faculty of planning and land management; the school of education and lifelong learning; the school of business; the faculty of social sciences and arts; the faculty of information and communication technology; the faculty of law; and the faculty of public policy and governance.
The library is fully digitised, and students can access its e-resources off-campus. There are four halls of residence on campus, each with its own senior hall tutor. While SDD-UBIDS is no longer able to accommodate all students, it will help students arrange accommodation in nearby private hostels.
Students’ interests are advocated for by an elected Students’ Representative Council.
