Southern Leyte State University is a public research university located in the Philippines. Founded in 1959, the university has six campuses.
The colleges include, criminal justice, engineering, technology, computer science and information technology, hospitality and tourism management, arts and sciences, and teacher education.
The Hinunangan campus offers programmes in agriculture and engineering. At San Juan campus students focus on business and management. Students at the Bontoc campus study aquatic and applied life sciences. Tomas Oppus hosts the college of education and finally Maasin City campus hosts the college of good governance and development studies.
There are over 40 student organisations and clubs on campus, ranging from music and theatre to sports and athletics.
The university is also committed to providing students with various opportunities for community engagement and service learning. Students are given the chance to immerse themselves in the local community for example through the Centre for Access to Rural Education.
