About Sri Sri University

Sri Sri University was founded in 2006 by Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji, who wanted to combine higher education’s technology, learning and ideas with ancient spiritual values in India. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is a spiritual leader seeking global peace through service and dialogue, and hopes that the university can follow this mission.

The campus is located in Odisha, Eastern India, known for its beautiful temples, beaches, and diverse natural ecosystems.

The university offers a range of different programmes, from undergraduate level to postgraduate and doctorate levels. There are nine faculties at the university from which the students can choose to study in including architecture; agriculture; management studies; arts, communication and Indic studies; health and wellness; sciences; contemplative and behavioural sciences; emerging technologies; and doctoral studies.

Each academic year has two semesters, during which students are expected to spend about 44 hours on their studies. Students are also encouraged to undertake internship and placement opportunities in their summer break to build skills ready for graduation.

Students have the option to take language courses in French, German, and Russian while at university, along with field trip visits to enhance their language studies. A three-month Sanskrit language course is also on offer.

Students at Sri Sri University can access a range of facilities and extra-curricular activities. There’s B-fest and cultural nights on offer to celebrate Indian history and culture and share it with students from across the country and beyond. There’s also open-mic nights, Christmas carnivals, and the annual Orion cultural festival.
