Your opportunity Southern Cross University’s Faculty of Education is seeking a Senior Manager, Professional Experience to provide strategic and operational leadership of the Faculty’s Professional Experience program. This pivotal leadership role will drive the development, continuous improvement and governance of one of the University’s most critical student-facing functions, ensuring high quality placement experiences that meet accreditation, compliance and regulatory standards. Working closely with the Associate Dean (Education Partnerships), and Faculty Executive, you will lead a large, multilayered professional team responsible for coordinating professional placements across Early Childhood, Primary, Secondary and Higher Education programs. You will shape service delivery models, strengthen external partnerships, optimise systems and processes, and ensure a culture of service excellence aligned with the University’s strategic objectives.   You will make an impact by: Providing strategic and operational leadership of the Professional Experience Centre, driving continuous improvement, service performance, workforce planning and sustainable operating models Leading and developing a high performing Professional Experience team, setting clear expectations, building leadership capability, and fostering a resilient, student-focused service culture Oversee governance, compliance and risk management across professional experience programs, ensuring alignment with accreditation, WHS, legal and regulatory obligations Establish and strengthen strategic partnerships with schools, ECEC settings, accrediting authorities and government bodies to secure and sustain quality placement opportunities Drive data informed decision making, reporting and system optimization, including SONIA and CRM platforms, to enhance placement outcomes and student experience What you will bring You’re a strategic and experienced leader with a strong track record in managing complex, student-facing operations within highly regulated environments. You bring commercial acumen, governance expertise and a deep understanding of service delivery, combined with the ability to lead teams through change and continuous improvement. Continuing Full-Time position Position based at Bundoora and Alfred Clinical Health School, Alfred Hospital Salary level B starting from $114,855 plus 17% superannuation  About the position A Level B academic in a teaching-focused role works independently and does not require close supervision. They are expected to develop curriculum, coordinate subjects, teach, and support students throughout their learning. In addition, they contribute to the administrative functions of the discipline and undertake scholarly activities that advance learning and teaching within their discipline or professional field. A teaching-focused academic is expected to demonstrate teaching excellence in line with the La Trobe Teaching Excellence Principles and to maintain a strong record of achievement. This should be evidenced through Student Feedback on Teaching (SFT) surveys, peer review of teaching, and other evidence-based measures. Essential 8 or more years of industry and/or applied academia experience and knowledge in enhancing environmental sustainability through sustainability management. Demonstrated expertise in one or more areas of sustainability measurement and management, such as life cycle analysis, circular economy, sustainability road mapping (e.g., decarbonisation for net-zero transition), sustainability change management, and organisational sustainability strategy development. Knowledge in sustainability reporting standards and frameworks, carbon markets, and regulatory developments. Motivated to lead, develop and teach curriculum related to sustainability both for pre-employment learners and continuous education and training. Proven ability to develop sustainability solutions through applied projects. Desirable Experience in sustainability related projects with strong integration of the three pillars of sustainable development. Knowledge in sustainability-related technologies such as carbon capture, utilisation and storage, as well as business practices and models such as carbon trading and circular economy. Expertise in carbon accounting and carbon compliance rules (e.g., Greenhouse Gas  (GHG) Protocol, ISO 14064, Singapore’s Carbon Tax Regime). Knowledge and experience in sustainable finance. Successful candidates will join the Business, Communication and Design (BCD) Cluster (one of five academic clusters in SIT), as members of a team of accomplished experts who are passionate about higher education and deeply involved in industry transformation through applied research programmes.
