We are seeking a Research Assistant who will support the Research Manager with the development of the College Connect research strategy, communicating research outputs, and supporting the embedding of the Community Needs Analysis (CNA) findings and recommendations across the MEND region. The College Connect Project aims to support access to higher education for communities underrepresented in higher education (including Travellers, people with disabilities, people in the asylum system, refugees, people with previous convictions) in the Midlands, East, North Dublin (MEND) region.

The Research Assistant will provide support to the Research Manager across several priority College Connect Research activities including (i) All Island Research laboratory (AIRO) Model of Community Engagement; (iii) overall Project Evaluation, (iv) Community Needs Analysis (CNA) with Traveller and Roma communities. The Research Assistant will support the Research Manager in a range of academic research projects and methodologies. This position will be based in Maynooth University with a focus on the MEND region. The post holder will work as a member of the College Connect team and report to the College Connect Research Manager.

The successful candidate will have a thorough knowledge of academic literature searches and reviews, data analysis and management, conducting focus groups & interviews; and effective dissemination methodologies for embedding research findings. The candidate will have excellent organisational and IT skills and high levels of self-motivation and flexibility.

Salary

Research Assistant Level I (2024): €31,962 – €35,856 p.a. (6 points, pro rata)

Research Assistant Level II (2024): €36,796 – €41,943 p.a. (7 points, pro-rata)

Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.

Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Pathology, School of Clinical Medicine (several posts) (Ref.: 530556), to commence as soon as possible for one to two years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in biological science, biomedical sciences, bioinformatics or related disciplines. They should be self-driven, highly motivated, creative with excellent communication skills in written and spoken English and Cantonese. Expertise and knowledge in bioinformatics and data analysis (e.g. Linux, R programming) is essential. The appointees will need to perform data analysis of clinical genomics, single cell RNA-sequencing and transcriptomics data analysis in different sarcomas. Additional basic laboratory skills in handling clinical samples (e.g. FFPE tissue, blood) and DNA/RNA extractions will be desirable. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a research project that explores the potential of coaching in positively influencing workplace learners' academic performance and well-being. The Research Assistant will play a crucial role in project management, data collection and analysis, enabling the team to gain valuable insights and make evidence-based recommendations. This is a 1-year funded position with the potential for continued employment to work on other teaching and learning research projects.

Key Responsibilities:


	Collecting longitudinal data from surveys and FGD interviews for all workplace learners across experimental conditions.
	Managing and monitoring survey completion rates.
	Scheduling and conducting FGD interviews with participants.
	Scheduling and following up on coaching supervision and progress of coaching intervention with external coaches and coach-educators, coordinated with PI/co-I.
	Managing token of appreciation for workplace learners disbursed during the project duration.
	Conducting quantitative analysis of survey data and qualitative analysis of FGD interview data.


Job Requirements:


	Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., psychology, education, social sciences)
	1-3 years of experience in educational research
	Experience in research project management and data collection preferred
	Experience in qualitative and quantitative research methods preferred
	Possess track record of scholarly publications/presentations preferred
	Familiarity and interest with coaching principles and research is a plus

Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT)

Applications are invited for a Research Fellow position within the School of Electronics and Computer Science at the University of Southampton, UK. The work will involve polymer engineering and science aspects such as electrical, thermal and mechanical characterisation of high voltage insulation materials. Material development, such as polymer blends and associated composites will also be involved. The obtained results will be written up as project deliverables such as reports or presentations as well as publications in academic journals and conferences.  This post is part of the Horizon Europe Framework Programme “CableGnosis” programme (Life Cycle Centre for Cable Diagnosis) awarded under the call for proposals: HORIZON-CL5-2024-D3-01-15: HVAC, HVDC and High-Power cable systems.

The successful candidate will have a PhD or equivalent professional qualification and experience in polymer science and engineering and/or dielectric materials. Applications from candidates who are working towards a PhD will be considered. The candidates must possess detailed knowledge and understanding of polymer sample fabrication and characterisation.

We are looking for a self-starter, able to organise own research activities effectively who is able to plan and justify focus on extensive research that will result in long-term technological benefit. The successful candidate will have an ability to clearly document and communicate research results.

You must be able to work effectively in a team and organize time, tasks and responsibilities with other team members.

Experience in project management will be an advantage.
