Technical University of Cotopaxi (UTC) is a public university located in Latacunga, Ecuador.
The university was established in 1995, and offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs in different disciplines such as engineering, agricultural sciences, business administration, and education.
The university is institutionally accredited by the Higher Education Quality Assurance Council of Ecuador, and is recognised for its community outreach and research.
The university’s main campus is located in Latacunga, a city surrounded by the stunning Andean landscape, including the iconic Cotopaxi volcano. In addition to its main campus, UTC has satellite campuses in other parts of the province.
UTC is actively involved in research projects that address local needs such as sustainable agriculture, environmental conservation, renewable energy, and rural development.
The university’s extension programmes are designed to transfer knowledge and technologies from the classroom and laboratory to the field, benefiting farmers, small businesses, and community organisations.
