Established in 2021 in South West Nigeria, Thomas Adewumi University aims to have a global impact by nurturing sustainability. Through its research, education and community-engagement initiatives, it contributes towards all 17 of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
The university has seven faculties: arts and humanities; basic medical and health sciences; computing and applied sciences; engineering; law; management and social sciences; and nursing sciences. Science students work in campus laboratories; communications students have access to a recording studio. TAU also publishes a research journal, the Thomas Adewumi University Journal of Innovation, Science and Technology, or TAU-JIST.
It is divided into two campuses: East and West. Both offer accommodation for students. Bedrooms sleep between one and four students. Halls of residence also provide communal areas, with TV, table tennis, pool table and board games, as well as a kitchenette.
An Enactus society runs student projects dedicated to finding sustainable solutions to social and environmental problems.
