About Turkmen State Institute of Finance

Turkmen Institute of Finance is a higher education institution offering a comprehensive range of degree programmes in the areas of finance and financial management. It is located the country’s capital, the city of Ashgabat.

Founded in 2011, the institute functions as a think tank and developer for financial and economic strategy and policy in Turkmenistan. It is closely partnered with the Turkmen Institute of Economics and Management, founded in 1980, which aims to produce leaders and specialists in the fields of economics and finance. Since it’s creation, the Turkmen State Institute of Finance has continually grown to offer further courses aligned with the needs of the national economy.

The institute is comprised of 11 departments. It offers 11 degree programmes at undergraduate level, and 10 at postgraduate in: finance, economic theory, banking, accounting, taxes and taxation, insurance, information technology, social sciences, foreign languages, higher mathematics, and physical education.

All courses offered are both theoretical and vocational, and the institute has facilities for both in-person and digital learning.

It is also research-focussed, with a research centre and a council of young scientists dedicated to shaping scientific and youth policy in Turkmenistan. The institute regularly holds conferences, seminars, and panels of national and international industry leaders aimed at furthering research and policy advancement in the field.

The Turkmen State Institute of Finance is a participating member in the Internet Olimpiads, an international academic-led competitions where individual students compete against other universities in a given field to produce research for judges.
