Basic information and contact details for Universidad del Pacífico Ecuador
With roots dating back to 1992, the idea of Universidad Del Pacífico Ecuador (UPACIFICO) was talked about in response to the lack of economic and social development in Ecuador. The idea was that UPACIFICO would create strong business leaders.
In 1994, research and curriculum development began and in 1997, UPACIFICO was officially up and running with the ability to grant degrees at an undergraduate, postgraduate, master's and PhD level.
Today, UPACIFICO has a range of different faculties, including: business and economy, science, technology and environmental administration, political and international science, tourism, hospitality, and culinary arts, law and applied languages.
Within these, students can specialise further and study subjects like agribusiness economics, international trade law and strategic marketing. All courses have a direct link to forging strong professional careers post graduation.
Students are also encouraged to plan internships during their courses to get hands-on, practical experience and develop key competencies and critical skills within their subject of interest.
On campus, students can take part in cultural and sports activities on campus including dance and culture club, reading club and sports and social club. For those with an interest in fitness, there are also sports facilities available.
UPACIFICO has partnerships with other universities worldwide including Florida International University in US, University of Bamberg in Germany and National Chengchi University in Taiwan.
As well as encouraging the exchange of both students and faculty, it has established scientific relationships with global universities to boost research opportunities.
