Named after Arturo Jauretche, a 20th-century writer, politician and philosopher, Universidad Nacional Arturo Jauretche was founded in 2009. Its first students were admitted in 2011.
The university’s degrees come under three academic institutes: the institute of engineering and agronomy; the institute of health sciences; and the institute of social sciences and administration.
The demographics of UNAJ students are distinctive: the vast majority are first-generation students. Almost half of all students are more than 24 years old.
The four-acre urban campus is located in the province of Buenos Aires. This includes sports grounds and sports clubs, as well as venues for cultural activities. UNAJ has its own media group, which includes an FM radio station, a digital magazine and web TV.
