The University of Luanda – or UniLuanda – was officially opened in July 2022 in the Angolan capital of Luanda. It incorporated five pre-existing institutions, including the Higher Institute of Arts and the Institute of Information and Communication Technology.
UniLuanda currently offers 16 undergraduate degrees, spread across four faculties: the polytechnic institute of management, logistics and transport, which incorporates most engineering, accounting and business management courses; the faculty of arts, which offers visual arts, music, theatre and fashion design courses; the faculty of social work, incorporating early childhood education, international relations and social sciences; and the institute of information and communication technologies, offering computer and telecommunications engineering.
The university also offers one master’s degree course, in educational and social intervention in childhood.
It has a number of partnerships with international universities, including institutions in Sweden, South Africa and Brazil.
A city university, UniLuanda provides students with accommodation, sports facilities and a library. It also offers study-abroad and international exchange programmes.
