Universitas Tanjungpura is located is Pontianek, Indonesia.
It was formed as the private University of National Power, with faculties of law and commerce, in 1959. It took the Tanjangpura name in 1967.
Students are spread across faculties of law, economics and business, agriculture, information science, engineering, forestry, maths and natural sciences, a medical school and Institutes of Social and Political Science, and Technical Education and Training.
The main current graduate programme is environmental science, with plans to expand into biotechnology and development planning in rural areas.
Research Centres are devoted to issues including tropical wetlands and peat soils, biodiversity, sustainable energy, and border studies and ethnicity.
