Established in 1942, The CT Bauer College of Business is the business school of the University of Houston in Houston, Texas and has been based in Melcher Hall on the university campus since 1986. The university opened the Michael J. Cemo Hall in 2008.

Bauer has over 5,200 students, with majority as undergraduates, across five academic departments: accountancy and taxation, decision and information sciences, marketing and entrepreneurship, finance, and management. The student to teacher ratio is 3 to 1.

Undergraduate majors broadly follow departmental lines with courses available in: accountancy and taxation; management information systems; supply chain management; finance; management; marketing and entrepreneurship.

Bauer MBA Programs include Full-Time, Professional and Executive options, with master's available in finance, marketing, global energy management, accountancy, management information and systems supply chain management. There is also a doctoral course and executive education in subjects including blockchain technology.

There are 10 research centres serving Bauer students, academics and the wider business community: AIM Center for Investment Management (ACIM) examines the interaction between investment management, accounting, information technology and marketing. It is also home to the CT Bauer College of Business Cougar Investment Fund, LLC, a successful private investment company run by graduate students.

The Decision Sciences Institute applies quantitative and behavioural methods to the problems of society. There is also the Graduate Real Estate Program; the Institute for Diversity & Cross Cultural Management; the Institute for Health Care Marketing (IHCM); the Institute for Regional Forecasting (IRF); the Stephen Stagner Sales Excellence Institute (SEI); the Gutierrez Energy Management Institute (GEMI); the UH Small Business Development Center and the Wolff Center For Entrepreneurship (WCE).

Notable alumni include: Carol Alvarado, Texas state representative and former Houston city councilwoman; Stephen Chazen, president and CEO of Occidental Petroleum; Samuel DiPiazza, chairman and global CEO of PricewaterhouseCoopers; Aylwin Lewis, president and CEO of Potbelly Sandwich Works and former president and CEO of Sears Holdings Corporation; David A. Williams, president and CEO of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Bruce Williamson, chairman, CEO and President of Dynegy.
