The Department of Arts and Design of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities invites applications for the position of Full Professor in Industrial Design. According to the current plan, a Faculty of Design will be established at the new campus, offering undergraduate and postgraduate degrees programmes in Industrial Design. Qualifications 1. A doctoral degree (or equivalent terminal degree) in Industrial Design or a closely related field; 2. Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching, research and application-based innovation, with expertise in one or more of the following areas: a. sustainable product-service-system innovation, including circular design, systems thinking, service-led strategies for ecological and social transformation; b. more-than-human-centered interaction and UI/UX design, encompassing inclusive, ethical, and planetary perspectives beyond individual usability; c. digital-physical design integration, such as intelligent product design, tangible user interfaces, digital fabrication, or responsive materials; d. advanced design methodologies, including research-through-design, critical and speculative design approaches; 3. A strong record or demonstrable potential in practice-led design, supported by real-world projects, impactful implementations, or industry-academic collaborations; 4. Proficiency in mainstream design software and emerging prototyping tools and materials, including physical computing, additive manufacturing, and sustainable material experimentation; 5. Evidence of academic publications and/or recognized creative outputs, such as design patents, curated exhibitions, funded projects, or international design awards; 6. Experience teaching and mentoring in studio-based, transdisciplinary, or research-intensive design courses at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels; 7. Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in Chinese is considered an asset, especially for cross-cultural communication, community-based research, and teaching. About the role: The Communications and Engagement Officer will be responsible for delivering all campaigns and creative content across the Entrepreneurship Institute’s (EI) social media channels and email marketing platform, as well as developing content (video, blogs, case studies podcasts) that encourages and compels audiences to join King’s entrepreneurial community and sign-up to or further engage with the Institute’s offerings. Monitoring and tracking of analytics to better understand the EI’s community will also be key. The Communications and Engagement Officer will also be responsible for delivering/co-delivering a range of engagement events and activities within the Communications & Engagement programme, which can include both curricular and co-curricular work. Job Description FACULTY OF SCIENCE DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY With offers of BSc (Hons) in Chemistry, BSc (Hons) in Analytical and Testing Sciences, MSc in Analytical Chemistry, MPhil (by research), and PhD degrees, the Department presently has around 150 undergraduate students, 70 taught postgraduate students and 90 research students and project staff. The Department places a strong emphasis on both quality education and scholarly research/services, and has reached a significant milestone where its educational programmes are not only innovative but also accessible, and its major areas of research strength are well recognised and supported. It is now inviting applications for the position of: Associate Professor / Assistant Professor (25260426) Responsibilities: The appointee will be expected to conduct independent, high-quality research, foster interdisciplinary collaborations, and demonstrate research achievements of originality and depth. The ideal candidate will have the potential to become a leading international scholar and contribute to impactful research and innovative technological applications. The appointee will also supervise MPhil and PhD students, develop a vigorous research program at the forefront of basic and translational chemical / environmental engineering, and engage in broader scholarly activities such as organising academic conferences, symposia, and seminars. Requirements: Applicants should hold a PhD in Chemical Science or Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering, Biomedical Science or Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
