Opportunity
GBS is in an exciting period of growth, and we are seeking experienced and driven Lecturers with strong backgrounds in Business Psychology. You will have a passion for teaching and you will be responsible for delivering lectures, facilitating discussions, and guiding students through complex business theories and practices. We are looking for full-time & hourly paid Lecturers to teach BSc Business Psychology. You will also need to be flexible to teach during weekdays, evenings and weekends.

	A Master’s level in the relevant subject area and a PhD will be highly desirable.

	Teaching qualifications: PGCHE, MA in HE Practice or FHEA etc. Those without this will need to complete this in their first year in post

Faculty of Science and Technology aims to provide programmes for undergraduate and graduate education with quality reaching international standard. It strives to become a research active unit advancing the knowledge of engineering and science, and serves the community and industry as an agent of technological innovation and educational advancement. Currently, about 90 faculty members from diverse international backgrounds serve in this faculty. Qualifications

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field and demonstrate excellence in teaching, research and service. English will be the primary working language and proficiency in Chinese or Portuguese is a plus. The applicant’s research and academic achievements should meet internationally recognized standards of excellence. Priority will be given to, but not restricted to the following research areas:

The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in the 3rd quarter of 2025.

Remuneration

A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,250,200 (approximately USD154,350) for the position of Full Professor, MOP1,052,800 (approximately USD129,980) for the position of Associate Professor will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions. Apart from competitive remuneration, UM offers a wide range of benefits, such as medical insurance, provident fund, on-campus accommodation/housing allowance and other subsidies. About the role

We are seeking an exceptional candidate for the position of Senior Lecturer in Advanced Manufacturing. The successful applicant will be expected to conduct world-leading and impactful research, and teach across a broad range of areas including advanced manufacturing, Industry 4.0, sustainable manufacturing, and related topics in mechanical and aerospace engineering, computer-aided engineering, and advanced engineering materials. Proven research experience in these areas and a strong track record of successful grant applications are essential. The ideal candidate will be an outstanding researcher and educator with a history of impactful research, evidenced by publications in top journals and peer-reviewed conferences, and demonstrated excellence in teaching and learning in higher education. Responsibilities include collaborating with colleagues within the School and across the University, designing curriculum, teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and supervising students. The successful candidate will also be expected to foster links with external partners, including industry, government, and community, as the School diversifies its income sources. Additionally, the incumbent will develop and deliver innovative interdisciplinary academic programs, lead student projects for national and international competitions, and supervise projects addressing grand challenges. The ability to form strategic interdisciplinary teams and secure research grants in collaboration with internal and external partners is also required.

About You

The successful candidate will hold a PhD or equivalent in Advanced Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, or a closely related field. You will have significant experience and achievements in areas such as advanced manufacturing, sustainable manufacturing, mechanical engineering, materials engineering, advanced material processing technologies, or computer-aided engineering,  an outstanding track record and international reputation for excellence in research and development, evidenced by peer-reviewed publications in high-profile journals, patents, Open Source developments, and strong national and international research collaborations. You will demonstrate leadership in research, fostering a strong research culture, and developing research initiatives, with experience supervising research students at Honours or higher degree levels, have a proven capacity to secure substantial research funding from various sources, including competitive government grants and industry partnerships. Additionally, you will exhibit proven leadership in curriculum development and program delivery in Advanced Manufacturing and Mechanical/Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Experience in successful interaction with industry or other external partners in research projects is essential, with industry experience in a related field being highly regarded.
