Description
The Department of Computer Science is seeking to hire a tenure-track assistant professor in Information and Infrastructure, beginning fall 2025. The areas of interest include, but not limited to, social media systems, smart health, information management, distributed/cloud/edge computing, high-performance and hyper-dimensional computing, big data analytics, deep learning, knowledge and data engineering, data center applications and infrastructure, networked computer systems, and Internet of things.The department of computer science is home to faculty who are principal investigators of research grants from NSF, DOD, NIH, etc. The department encourages collaborative interdisciplinary research with faculty members from other departments. We offer Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Computer Science. Multiple faculty members are supervising Ph.D. students through two joint doctoral programs (JDPs): SDSU-UC Irvine Computational Science JDP and SDSU-UCSD Engineering JDP. The anticipated salary range is from $107,000 to $110,000. Qualifications
Candidates must have a PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field. A strong record of scholarship is required. Candidates are expected to teach core computer science courses and establish and grow an externally funded research program. Candidates with a demonstrated commitment to diversity are encouraged to apply. About the Role

The Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity is looking to appoint a Research Fellow within the Department of Infectious Diseases to join the Lewin Laboratory.

This role involves developing innovative antiviral therapeutics using gene editing tools and lipid nanoparticles (LNPs), particularly focusing on respiratory pathogens with pandemic potential.

The successful candidate will contribute to the in vitro and in vivo delivery of mRNA-LNPs to model systems and mice, aiming to optimize and evaluate the antiviral efficacy of these formulations. This position is supported by the Cumming Global Centre for Pandemic Therapeutics and collaborates closely with cross-disciplinary supervisory teams.

Your responsibilities will include:


	Contribute to the development of the laboratory’s research program.
	Assess mRNA expression in vitro.
	Troubleshoot challenges, optimise and develop protocols associated with in vivo mRNA-LNP delivery.
	Effective contribution to the quality and impact of research teams, projects and publications.


Who We Are Looking For

You will be a recent PhD graduate or junior post-doc with a background in virology, immunology, microbiology, molecular biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, CRISPR, or related fields, and have up to two years of work experience.

Your expertise will include in vivo mouse work, proficiency in basic molecular biology techniques such as cloning and PCR, and experience with cell culture and experimental design.

You will demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a research team, maintaining detailed records and analysing data effectively.

You will also have:


	A PhD in virology, immunology, microbiology, molecular biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, CRISPR, or related fields.
	Proficiency in basic virology or molecular biology techniques
	Demonstrated experience in cell culture and passage of multiple mammalian cell lines together with cell transfection and validation by multiple methods.
	Excellent communication skills are essential, evidenced by your experience presenting research and writing manuscripts.

Based on our Hamilton campus you will produce research of a high standard in your specialist area of supply chain management or logistics, and actively communicate the impact of that research within the Division and beyond. In addition to teaching across several undergraduate and postgraduate supply chain management subjects, you will supervise Masters and PhD students in their academic journey.

This is a full-time position (37.5 hours a week). Salary will be in the range from $87,500 to $104,322 per year for the Lecturer role and $107,177 to $140,599 per year for the Senior Lecturer role, salary will be dependent on the skills, knowledge and experience brought to the position.

Description

The Center for Quantum and Topological Systems (CQTS) at New York University (NYU) Abu Dhabi, UAE invites applications for a Research Associate position, in the area of Topological Quantum Field Theory. The candidate is expected to conduct research in Quantum Topology and Mathematical Physics, focusing on the topological invariants of quantum systems, 3-manifolds, integrable models, and quantum circuits. Prior expertise in these areas is highly encouraged.

The selected candidate will work on cutting edge technologies in an excellent research environment, with a potential to work with a Quantum Computer through our collaboration partners. The Center possesses the unique possibility to investigate cutting-edge interdisciplinary questions within the theoretical and fundamental aspects of Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science and Engineering, from various points of view and different abstraction levels. The selected candidate will also have great opportunities to work on interdisciplinary research problems with other postdocs of the center.

We also expect successful applicants to do cutting-edge interdisciplinary research and work in synergy towards improving the collaborations and connections among the different areas. Ability to work and connect to more than one topic and having interdisciplinary perspective is an advantage, but disciplinary applications will be considered as well having a focus and in depth expertise in a particular topic mentioned above.

Applicants should meet the following qualifications and possess relevant expertise:


	A PhD in Physics or a closely related field, with specialization in quantum knotinvariants.
	In this role, you will be responsible for conducting research on quantum invariants of knots and links, 3-manifolds (Quantum Topology).
	Additionally, the position involves exploring the mathematical physics foundations of higher-dimensional integrable models, and quantum circuits.


The appointment will be for a period of two years, and extensions to longer terms are possible upon review.

The terms of employment for these positions include a very competitive salary with additional attractive benefits, including generous housing allowance, medical insurance with access to world class facilities, annual home leave allowance, and (if applicable) dependent private school fees. Salaries are tax-free in the UAE (for US tax, the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion can be used). Qualifications

Applicants must have received a Ph.D. in civil engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related field. Expertise in ROS and simulation platforms is required. Additionally, candidates should have experience with ROS2 and be familiar with the development of AI models, large language models (LLMs), and the use of machine learning (ML) techniques. Excellent communication skills in English and scientific creativity are essential. The applicant should have a strong publication record and be capable of supporting grant writing and proposal development to secure funding for research initiatives. Furthermore, extensive experience in laboratory management and research operations, along with in-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in laboratory environments, is required. The ideal candidate will also possess strong organizational skills, a deep understanding of the scientific research process, and the ability to foster a collaborative and innovative research environment.
